PSCA Starts Operation on Kasur Safe City Project
The initiatives have been taken to ensure Kasur the safe and secure city. For this purpose, CCTV cameras have been installed and they are also linked to Integrated command, control and communication center IC3 for the monitoring of people. PSCA Starts Operation on Kasur Safe City Project.
The safe city cameras are installed and they are connected to central controlling command through optical fiber cable and it will ensure the monitoring of the operations from PSCA Headquarters. This project is now started in Kasur to ensure the safety and security of the general public from any illegal o r terrorist activities. There are about 116 locations in the city and 450 CCTV cameras have been installed and these cameras will remain active for 24 hours a day. For this purpose, the sensitive areas and crime hot spots and the locations for installations of cameras have been selected, particularly after increasing of cases of theft, rape and murder cases in Kasur. PSCA was compelled to install about 50 cameras on the urgent basis because of the occurrence of such incidents. The law enforcement agencies are taking interest to reduce such incidents in this city and surrounding areas in future.
To achieve the desired targets, the modern technology based monitoring center is installed in Kasur and they will be inaugurated soon by the orders of
Chief Minister of Punjab . The monitoring centers of Punjab Safe Cities Authorities in nine divisional headquarters of Punjab are in the final phase of completion. The authorities have given the priority to complete the remaining work of safe city project in Rawalpindi and Dera Ghazi Khan . The meeting was conducted at PSCA headquarters and Provincial Minister for Law, Finance Minister, CCPO Lahore and the IGP Punjab and Managing Director, PSCA were present with the Vice Chairman of PSCA . It is also decided that the safe city project will be extended to some other cities of Punjab and vice chairman PSCA has highlighted that authority is committed to vision of CM Punjab to ensure protection of lives of people and work efficiently to improve the governance. PSCA is making efforts to use the latest technology to get the desired results.
It is further added that the meeting was conducted to install the CCTV
cameras at Ring Road Lahore and these CCTV cameras will be connected to Safe City Project allowing the monitoring cell to check the over-speeding of the vehicles and also other traffic rules violations. During the meeting, the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965 was amended and the approval was accorded with the new traffic fines through the e-challan system and the allocation of separate green lane for motorcycles is being considered to confront increasing traffic congestion in the provincial capital of Punjab.
